Don't Be Afraid, Little Pip?The idea for Don’t Be Afraid, Little Pip occurred to me while I watched a children’s nature program discussing why penguins can’t fly. I thought to myself, “What if a penguin wanted to fly rather than swim?” Fear of the unknown is such a natural part of childhood, and adulthood for that matter. Pip’s fear of the dark ocean water speaks to children who may fear going to school for the first time, meeting new people, or even learning to swim!
